Here we go!

I am just an ordinary young woman setting off to Romania because someone I love has a deep and profound desire to help the people there and to show them what life really is. This blog is for all my friends and family and anyone else who stumbles across it to read about my plans and, once I get there, to read about what He will do in and through me.

Update

Nothing much has happened since my last post except that I found out that ROCK Ministries will be accepting applications again in January 2012. At this point I am still quite sure that Romania is where God wants me, however, I don't know if that means next year, or in 5 years, etc. I am waiting as patiently as I can for God to show me the next step and I am sure whatever it is He will have a lot to teach me.

As for right now I now have a job in Boise and am really liking it so far. I would ask for your prayers that God would direct me and that I would continue to love and trust Him in every area of my life.

The First Plan

In June 2010 I sent in an application to ROCK Ministries to go for a short time to Romania and serve at Victor Gomiuo Hospital to care for abandoned children. I was accepted for July 2011 shortly afterwards.
Recently I sent out letters to many friends and family with this blog address attached. I'm sorry I have written on it until now, I do hope that some of you will still check in on it.
Now, I have my latest update. Which is that, unfortunately, ROCK Ministries has had to cancel missions for this year. It was quite a surprise, but with the recession the ministry seems to have lost some support. However, I have asked to apply for a trip next year and if I am unable to go with ROCK, I will apply to some other suggested ministries.
This has been a bit of a testing time for me and God has definitely taught me some valuable lessons. He has taught me to follow Him without excuse and to depend on Him only for all my needs and to know His is the only plan that really matters.
I also want to say at this time that though many of us are going through hard times we must remember that there is nothing that is too small for God to care about, nothing too big for Him to handle, nothing too expensive for Him to pay for, and nothing that can keep Him from accomplishing His will for our world. I believe God can do abundantly more than we can ask or think (Eph. 3:20)
